ODPAA Reunion Weekend 2019

  • SAVE THE DATES!! July 11-14, 2019 is Reunion Weekend for both Clarkson and Potsdam. However, many Omegas will be arriving on the 10th to start our celebration early and you are welcome to join us!

Omega’s Reunion Round-up!  Yeehaw! The theme for Omega’s RW 2019 is Western Cowboy/Cowgirl!

Activities planned for some fun include townhouse theme decorating, a stick pony rodeo relay, line dancing, bowling with TEP, an early arrivals potluck and our very own Omega Hoe Down Hootenanny!  And YES, want entertainment!

You should still register with your respective school. Each school wants to know that you are in town! If there are activities that you plan to attend on your campus, some may require a reservation or charge a fee. If you plan to attend the Saturday evening Hoe Down Hootenanny, you MUST pay for this on the SUNY site. It is listed under Saturday events as our banquet.

Register and pay with SUNY if you plan to

  • attend our Saturday night banquet
  • attend the couples breakfast
  • eat the campus-provided food at Saturday’s Block Party

Here is what is  planned:

Philanthropy
ODPAA: School Supply Drive for Lawrence Avenue Elementary School (Part of Potsdam Central Schools.)
Where: Drop off donations at ODPAA Reunion Weekend Headquarters (RWHQ), Phlamingo Ranch Phlockhouse Saloon, Townhouse #TBD.

When: Drop off your donations anytime up until delivery at 10 a.m. Friday morning. Bring supplies with you or double the impact by purchasing them in Potsdam.

Prometheus Food Drive: Collection boxes will be located at tables in the main reunion weekend registration area in Raymond Hall Lobby.  All items collected will be donated to the campus food pantry. Bring non-perishable food items with you or double the impact by making your purchase in Potsdam. Omega will have two shifts manning the collection table.

Wednesday, July 10 – We will once again have the option for a four night stay and welcome as many of you as possible to be an early bird! Join this low key  event as early Omegas arrive throughout the afternoon and evening.

  • Howdy Early Cowpokes! ODPAA check-in upon your arrival! Our Reunion Round up Headquarters will be Phlamingo Ranch Phlockhouse Saloon.
  • Git Along Little Doggies Potluck:  Dinnertime, Townhouse Quad
    Join us around dinnertime for dinner featuring “little doggies” and other cowboy inspired dishes and desserts.  Sample cowboy caviar, cowboy hat cupcakes, hay bale treats, and much more!  BYOB. We will have a chance to ride a horse so have your cameras ready!  We look forward to a casual evening of catching up around the “campfire” and much laughter!

Thursday, July 11 – We anticipate most of our attendees will arrive.

Philanthropy and Omega weekend-long activities (theme decorating, etc.) will continue and campus reunion weekend activities begin in the afternoon and evening.

  • 8 a.m. Clarkson registration packet pick-up opens, Woodstock Lounge
  • 9 a.m – 8 p.m. SUNY registration, Becky’s Place
  • 4 -6:30 p.m.Early Bird Gathering at Becky’s Place with Alex Vangellow (Hon. ’14) on acoustic guitar. Music sponsored by alumni of Omega Delta Phi and Sigma Tau Psi.
  • 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. – All Greek Alumni & Friends Gathering, Townhouse Quad hosted by Omega. BYOB, appetizers or snacks, bring your sense of humor and a story to share. Dinner plans can be made as needed. Omega can pass the hat for Sergi’s if there is enough interest.
  • 8:30 p.m. – The Great Omega Stick Pony Relay Rodeo. Location TBD.  Team stick pony relay races plus a prize will be awarded for best overall homemade stick pony. Details to follow.

All Day

  • ODPAA School Supply Drive begins at Phlamingo Ranch Phlockhouse Saloon.
  • Prometheus Alumni Non-Perishable Food Drive begins

Friday, July 12 – More Omegas arrive and campus reunion weekend activities continue.

Every trip to Madstop requires a trip to Sergi’s!
  • 8 a.m. Clarkson registration packet pick-up opens, Woodstock Lounge
  • 8:30 -10 a.m. Cupid Breakfast For Potsdam-Potsdam & Potsdam-Clarkson Couples (If you are attending this event, pay on the SUNY site)
  • 9 a.m – 7 p.m. SUNY registration Lobby of Raymond Hall
  • 10 a.m.: School Supply Delivery Meet at Phlamingo Ranch Phlockhouse Saloon if you would like to come along for the delivery.
  • 2 – 4 p.m. Bowling with TEP!  Vie for the Big Ball trophy! Join us for some lawn bowling with TEP alumni.
  • 4:30 – 6 p.m. Welcome Reception for All Alumni and Friends Location TBD by SUNY.
  • 6 – 8 p.m.: A la carte Backyard BBQ – Food Truck Style. Entertainment provided by Andy VanDuyne ’75 and Michael Walsh, sponsored by PACES Dining Services. Tickets for a la carte items will be sold at the event. Cash bar.
  • 8 – ?? Shufflin’ With Boot Scootin’ Shelah: Learn some line dances in preparation for the Hotenanny.
  • 9 p.m. – ?? Visiting around the “campfire”.
  • 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. Double Axel at Maxfields (cover charge). Compliments of Clarkson, there will be a shuttle bus running, Friday from 7 pm – 10:30 pm for anyone wanting to go downtown. Pick up will be at the Clarkson Student Center and will loop downtown, Old Main and SUNY Potsdam.

Saturday, July 13 – This is always a busy day for Omega! Reunion weekend campus activities continue today, as does the Village Summer Festival.

  • 8 – 9:45 a.m. Bear Walk/Run, Maxcy. Register on the SUNY site.
  • 8 a.m. GK-5K Fun Run/Walk, Woodstock. Register on the Clarkson site.
  • 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. SUNY registration Lobby of Raymond Hall
  • 10 – 11 :30 a.m. ODPAA Annual Meeting, Timerman Hall, Room 131. Sisters only. Remote attendance options will be made available. Instructions will be given prior to the meeting.
  • 11 :45 a.m. All-Greek Photo at Minerva, followed by Omega-only Photo
  • 12:30 – 2 p.m. Campus Block Party Lunch Buffet & Memorabilia Table, BowmancQuad Open to all reunion attendees. A lunch buffet is available (purchase on SUNY registration page, $15 each) but you are welcome to attend, hang out, and/or bring your own food if you do not want to purchase the ticket. Wine and beer tastings will be available for extra cost as well as a cash bar. You do not have to buy a lunch ticket to enjoy the cash bar or wine and beer tastings since they are pay as you go anyway.
  • 5:00 p.m. Unity Ceremony at the House. Sisters only. 
  • 6 – 9 p.m. Omega Hoe Down Hootenanny! Thatcher Hall, $30, pay on the SUNY site, cash bar available. Spouses/Significant others welcome. Dress however you are most comfortable, wear your dancing shoes or boots.  Golf carts will be available to transport sisters to and from the Townhouses or your dorm. And yes, we want entertainment!
  • 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. Double Axel at Maxfields (cover charge)

Sunday, July 14

  • 9:30 Omega Happy Trails to You… Breakfast. Come get your go-juice of choice and other sustenance for the long trip home. Bring your calendars so you can start planning for next year! This is included in your Omega registration fee.
